D-14 What to Expect
It's two weeks before flying to the Netherlands. I'm still balancing between family time, work and preparation. But today, especially, I joined the Pre Departure program by Nuffic Neso Indonesia . An excellent program that lives up to its name. They covered essential subjects ranging from transportation to the most critical ones, such as the covid* measurement. It still feels surreal in 2 weeks; I'll be sleeping somewhere, not home. Then try to start from 0 to make a new home. Will I succeed? Bu Indry said it would take several phases until we overcome the unfamiliarity of the new place. First, the honeymoon phase, "everything is so wonderful". Then, an existential crisis might happen when things got complicated, "what am I doing here?". After that, optimism would rise, "well, it's not that bad. I got the hang of it".
