Hi there!

This blog was made by an ambitious (back then) a high school teenage girl in 2011. She made it as documentation and dedication in reaching her goal: the Chevron Scholastic Award (CSA) scholarship and her dream campus, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). A typical study-eyes-on-books type of person. Hence the name On, Your Mark, Get Set, Study!

I know, I know. She's lame at naming things. No one perfect. hahahah


You know what's ironic though? The campus that's famous for hardcore studying, is also a place for "de-studying". For the past 4,5 years, that teenage girl was exposed to various kinds of activities. Gain unique and memorable experiences. So much so, it has interfered her study. Her last post was about 10 days before the final exam / final project presentation. She passed, but everything went turbulent for almost a year. In the end, she landed - firmly - on her feet. Thank God.

You know what's crazy? She is not done with academic life that almost "killed" her.

Applying for a master's degree abroad is rather 'easy' compared to do the national test to enter ITB, which consisted of luck, hard work, and more luck. Like the Indonesian sayings: Misteri Ilahi. Now on flip side. Applying for a master's scholarship is waaayy harder than CSA. More tears, more money, more emotional draining, more of everything. She has tried several times. Alas, lucky attemp no. 7 - by the grace of God and her parents blessing - she received StuNed scholarship 2021. Exactly ten years after CSA. What a sweet round number.

So I guess she should revive this blog and make a little change, don't you think? 

Study is a bit rigid and boring.

Let's try 'learn'. In order for her to have an excuse experiencing all things Dutch :)
(I smell trouble. hahaha)

Anyway. Thank you for reading until this sentences.
This page is just an explaination of the name change, and maybe a hint of excitement on countinuing her study (or learning? Maybe studying? Is it?)

An excellent program that lives up to its name. #4 Refleksi Arti Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia Setelah Tinggal di Belanda

  Benar kata orang kalau rasa nasionalisme bisa menigkat (atau bahkan baru muncul) saat merantau. Kebetulan saya merantaunya ke Belanda; negara yang selalu diasosiasikan dengan kata 'penjajah' atau 'penjajahan' sejak kita bangku sekolah dasar hingga SMA. Rasanya setiap orang Indonesia bisa setidaknya bercerita singkat tentang masa penjajahan dan detik-detik menjelang kemerdekaan. Namun setelah hampir setahun tinggal di Belanda, periode dan momen tersebut tidak signifikan sama sekali untuk mayoritas pendudukanya. Sama seperti kebanyakan Western countries atau Global North,  frame Perang Dunia II jauh lebih relevan. Sehingga minggu ketiga Agustus menjadi minggu perayaan yang penuh konflik kepentingan.  Apakah ini perayaan berakhirnya Perang Dunia II? Apakah ini perayaan untuk mengenang para tentara? Tapi tentara yang mana? Apakah ini perayaan untuk mengenang korban dan warga sipil? Namun apa basis konfliknya? Apakah ini perayaan kemerdekaan atas ratusan tahun penjajahan?...
